Thousands of peoples celebrated Cap Go Meh (Lantern Festival) – the 15th day of Chinese New Year in Glodok-Kota, West of Jakarta.

The parade itself featured miniature statues of traditional gods passed along Hayam Wuruk & Gadjah Mada's street. The parade began at noon and ended right before heavy rain fell in. For this year, similar colourful festival also held in various other areas in Indonesia, such as at Pontianak and Makassar.

In Indonesia, the celebration of Lunar New Year and Cap Go Mehcould openly conducted by the Chinese-Indonesian right after Abdurrahman Wahid, Indonesia's 4th President set it as part of the national holiday since 2003.
