Silaturahmi among people of kampung after prayer

“On 28 July it was celebrated the Aidul Fitri 1 Syawal 1435 H.

The Prayer took place at dawn, I followed in the Mosque “Masjid Pondok Pinang” in Jakarta Selatan.

All of the previous day have followed the activities pre-Aid, such as the zakat for poor people or widows at the masjid of the kampung (salam tempel).

The rollers of the drums in the mosques (beduk) and the fireworks all night long (petasan), including the children in the party in the narrow streets of the kampung and women to buy flowers in the street for the next day.

The mosque was filled from the first light of dawn, with the men to cram the dining room and the women with the children throughout the outdoor courtyard.

After the prayer the kampung streets were filled with people dressed up for the traditional greetings (silaturahmi).”
